Luigi Kasimir (1881–1962) - Continental Canal Scene
Luigi Kasimir was an Austro-Hungarian-born etcher, painter, printmaker and landscape artist. This work is also in the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art collection in Wisconsin.
It is likely that it depicts a continental canal scene potentially in Austria, Hungary or Germany. A possibility is that it is Rothenburg ob der Tauber which is a historic medieval town known for its well-preserved walls. It also has the Tauber River pass through which could be the canal depicted here.
