A study of the village of Ravenstone in Leicestershire by Peter De Wint. The distinctive parish church of St Michael & All Angels features in the centre of this interesting composition by the artist. Through use of pencil and small amounts of watercolour De Wint has created a bucolic and picturesque scene.
Medium: pencil and watercolour on paper, inscribed l.l. and l.r. 'Ravenstone', 6.2 x 24.1 cm, framed.
Provenance: Abbott & Holder.
Condition report: generally very good with vibrant colouring. There is a small amount of discolouration around the edge of the paper possibly from a previous mount.
