Samuel Owen (1768-1857) - British frigate sailing off the coast
A superb example by the marine watercolourist Samuel Owen. This work depicts a British frigate with a shortened sail passing a fisherman trawling. It shows the artist's skill in watercolour and is a large work for Owen with excellent provenance.

Condition report: the watercolour is in excellent condition. Some thunder flies under the glazing on the mount (as shown in photos).
