Walter Stuart Lloyd RBA (1858-1926) - Nearly home

A highly finished and beautiful composition by the artist Walter Stuart Llloyd. Titled 'Nearly home' this picture depicts a 19th century scene in rural England with a couple crossing the river at the end of the day to their thatched cottage. 
 
Medium: watercolour on paper, signed l.r. 'Stuart Lloyd', 34.5 x 51cm (framed 54 x 69cm).
 
Provenance: The Reid Gallery, Mousehill House, Mildford, Godalming Surrey (label verso).
 
Condition report: generally in very good condition with fresh colours. There are small foxing marks on the watercolour and mount (see photos for examples). The frame shows a small amount of wear.
